1 Day 1 World Project: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
I’m joining up with the 1 Day 1 World Project, which is hosted by Lisa Kennedy at Northwest Frame of Mind. All you have to do is show a snippet of your life that represents a certain hour of the day, once every two weeks. This sounds like something I can manage, and, the project is just beginning! With enough participation we will build a little snapshot of our world.

This was my noon hour on Thursday, May 8. This is the pond in my backyard in East Texas, in a lovely rain. We raise timber and hay on our property and they both need lots of water – we hadn’t had rain in over a month and I was a little worried, so I was happy to see the rain.
It’s all fun until we lose power!
The other reason I love a rainy day is because then I can stay in and quilt, guilt-free!

Nowadays a lot of it looks like suburbia and Mall World everywhere, but a lot of it is still pretty cool! 🙂

Yes, I think it will be fun to look at glimpses of other lives, from the same bunch of contributors, as well as everyone else who joins in along the way.
I am very lucky with my view – I do like to point out that I paid my dues living in some neighborhoods that left a lot to be desired for years and years and years…. 🙂 so I really appreciate my surroundings now!
I totally understand the “view thing”. We moved from St. Paul/Minneapolis to this little farmstead 40 yrs. ago. and have never forgotten all that was gained in the transition!!! Love it as much today as the first day here!!!
Just as having little kids makes you eternally more appreciative of having a few moments to yourself (like to brush your teeth in peace!), having lived in an urban area makes me always grateful for being in the country. I know there are lots of people who feel exactly the opposite and need the urban excitement, but I really relish the peace and it sounds like you do too!
Exactly!!! And we know that IF we would want that “urban tension” we know where it is………..and then we can return home to our lovely little farmstead. These past 40 years have gone by so quickly it’s very alarming. Hugs…………….

Thank you, I do feel exceptionally blessed to be able to live where there is lots of greenery and open space. I spent 30 years in a much more urban area than I ever thought I would live in, and I never stopped craving nature! I am so happy to be able to virtually share it.
I can’t wait to see the quilt when it is finished. Enjoy the rain.

You have such a beautiful peaceful place to sit and day dream or read…..thanks for sharing that with us. So glad you got some rain as yes, it has been very dry here too. We got a little this past week also but need oh so much more. Hmm…maybe it’s time for a rain dance!
In 2011 the wildfires were only about 8 miles from us, and now with all the dead trees we have from the drought that year, I worry about fire more, so I am glad for every inch! If I dance, I will try to send some of the rain your way! 🙂
