Through the Day with Roy G Biv
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “ROY G. BIV.”
The beetle and the grasshopper were from last week, but all the other pictures are from today. I cheated a little bit by using the same bird for blue and indigo, but this is the first year I have had Indigo Buntings here and I am excited to get good pictures of them!
(I had to update because I forgot to tag and categorize!)
Your Indigo Bunting (shade photo) is typical of what I see at our place. The intense “blue-ness” is amazing!!!!! Love!!!!!!
You are lucky to have them regularly! We have a lot of Eastern Bluebirds here, but I think I would have noticed the Buntings if they had been here before. I had a great morning yesterday, sitting and watching them chase each other and mark their territories with singing.
I just love seeing them…..that iridescent blue is totally amazing!!!!!! (as are all the photos you shared!!!!!!)
Love your interpretation of the prompt. And if there’s ever a nature prompt you’ve got that covered already.
The spider looks like a very small golden orb…they are non-toxic, eat mosquitoes, but if bitten by one, it hurts like crazy! We had one that wove a web between our house (corner bush) and our next door neighbors corner bush…yikes!
I did not know that! We are taught to look out for only two spiders here, black widows and brown recluse. I never think of the other ones biting humans!
Gorgeous! Love the Grasshopper…….
