Quintessential Texas Vacation
Porch time…
Swimming holes…
Or rivers, in town…
And out of town…
Dance halls…
And don’t forget to hit all the thrift stores and fruit stands for souvenirs!
My husband had the idea for us to do a throwback vacation – to do all the things that meant “summer” in our un-air-conditioned childhoods. It was wonderful!
What a marvelous idea…slow down and smell the roses 🙂 SO……..make sure you have fun!!
My kind of vacation.Everyone should take one at least one like this.
We have it down to a science! Four bodies of water, three live music events, six thrift shops, and a fruit stand in 100 hours! But so relaxing! 🙂
That looks terrific, especially the watermelon! 🙂
The peaches were great in daiquiris! 🙂
Fascinating to see what an “old” Texan holiday would have been – looks like you had a great time!
Yes we did! Simple entertainments but so enjoyable. I was so happy to see families introducing their kids to these great traditions too.
The holiday sounds simply perfect to me from start to finish
It was a blast! If you ever come back to the States, be sure and let me know, and I will tell you some good places to go. I know you were disappointed with the food the last time you were here, so I will tell you some good restaurants to redeem our food reputation in your eyes! 🙂
Love the Pedernales River photo.
