Blue Norther
I was in the Hill Country this morning when a cold front blew in. The clouds looks like waves in the ocean as they rolled through in less than 20 minutes.

Whenever I am researching for a nature presentation, I come across great resources that beg to be shared. This is from The History of Four-footed Beasts, Serpents, and Insects, 1658, which was mostly a translation of an earlier book from the 1500s. I love this book so much — it has 1100 pages of illustrations […]

I am a little late in adding a post to the Numbers Game this week, because Hurricane Beryl came through on Monday. The storm was not a big one and it moved fast, but like many other people, we lost power. It was off for about 56 hours, and then it has been spotty since […]
I am again joining in with the Numbers Game from Judy Dykstra-Brown, this week looking at files with the number 149 in them. But I am going to stretch the limits of the challenge a little, by taking you on a walk to get to those “149” pictures. To get to this spot in the […]

I am going to play along with Judy Dykstra-Brown’s Numbers Game #27. Her number is 148, and she asks us to pull from our photos that have the number 148 somewhere in their file name. I am going to play, but keep my focus on nature photos, so that this poor blog gets some updates! […]
Two years ago I talked my sister into moving closer to me, into a slightly less urban area than she was used to. It has been fun for me to get her take on the wildlife she has encountered!

I miss how those skies reveal so much all the time. I miss how sometimes you can see that its raining miles and miles away as you drive still in full sunshine. Up here, between the buildings and the trees, I feel like I never see the horizon. Thanks for sharing.
I have seen blue northers come in like a blanket, but never with these rolling tubes of clouds. I am so glad I caught it because it only lasted about 20 minutes. I am happiest when I see lots of sky, too!
I’ll bet the Weather Channel would love to have these. They are awesome.
It was amazing – I’m so glad I saw it because normally I would not be outside so early!
I’m a bit north of the hill country but also saw this one coming in. Oh so enjoyed the cooler temps; today’s temps were unbelieveable…so looking forward to the next cold front! Enjoyed your pics.
I saw the geese flying over today here northwest of Houston – I hope the cold front is coming soon and that it stays for a while this time!
