The Numbers Game – July 1, 2024
I am joining in with Judy Dykstra-Brown’s online game — to showcase a variety to photos, she chooses a number every Monday, and then the participants show their photos with that number in the file name. I was going to do this only on my nature blog, Little Wild Streak, but this week, the files that came up showed such a fun variety that I am going to post some here too. These are from a 10-month period in 2017 and 2018, when I was getting to travel to some fun places.
Here are the links to my posts about Nova Scotia, and Crystal Bridges, I can’t believe it, but apparently I never wrote about my trips to Seattle or St. Louis, and I saw more public gardens, more art, and more Chihuly installations at both of those places — all giving me plenty of inspiration for art and quilts.

My mom hailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but I’ve never been. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos. We enjoyed our time in Seattle, and Chihuly featured prominently during that trip.
You have another blog! I didn’t know.
Yes, I started it years ago because I felt like my nature photos didn’t really belong on a textile blog, or at least not until I was using them as inspiration for textile art! But I haven’t kept it up as well as I thought I would.:)
I loved Halifax and Nova Scotia. I would love to go back!
Love the Park Place Market mural..Drives me crazy when such murals are paintspray”marked” by Graffiti jerks!! The Chihuly sculpture is amazing. Thank goodness no other jerk has pulled off one of the arms. Does he use glass in even these most vulnerable installations? Thanks for joining us.
On Chihuly, yes, I have seen his installations in five cities I think, and it is all glass!
We enjoyed trips to Nova Scotia when we lived in Maine. It’s always nice to see pictures that bring back happy memories.
I have been to Maine twice, once as a kid and once pretty recently, and I loved it both times. This last time we went, we went to get a nice blast of cold air before we had to face Texas summer, and it worked! 🙂
I love the photo of the boats!
