Weekly Photo Challenge – Urban
An unusually feathery showgirl.
When I started participating in the Weekly Photo Challenge, I told myself that all my pictures would be from here on the farm. But then this week’s challenge, Urban, came along, so I had to branch out a little.
The challenge post talked about capturing the reality of urban areas, not the prettified parts, but this is my favorite urban photo. I love the feathery transient effect of the showgirl amidst the solid reality of the buildings and tourists, and how most of the people aren’t even looking at her.
I took it on our first trip to Las Vegas this April, down on Fremont Street. I wish I could say I achieved this effect on purpose, but I think the battery charge was just running down.
