Even Better than Quilt Festival
Since I live so close to Houston, Texas, I usually can spend a day at the International Quilt Festival. This year something else came up that required me to miss it, but I was okay with that!

Great-grandma, That Clever Chick, and the next generation.

Aunt My Wildhood and nephew

The porch swing used to hang upstairs on the screened-in porch, but there’s a big stair well there now.
I am so glad that we have been able to gather in this place so many times. I cherish the sense of four generations holding hands across the decades.
Quilt Festival will be there next year.
Oh yes, better than a quilt festival 🙂
And also, I haven’t used the fabric I bought three years ago, the batting I bought two years ago, and the thread I bought last year…. 🙂 so I thought it was safe to skip a year!
Wonderful. Having little pangs of envy right now. 🙂
Yes, the visits are all too short, aren’t they? But I remember those busy days of young parenthood too, so I am just happy with whatever time they can share!
What precious memories these recall. And now a new generation with pictures for the family memory album. Wonderful!
Now this post is a true quilt showing togetherness. Blessings Always, Mtetar
What a lovely phrase! I love the way you put it!
Humans by our natures will always change, so grab the “now” now. Those quilts will be around for a while just as they are now.
You are right! Especially when a baby is involved.
How wonderful! It’s so great that you’ve taken the photos, and knew where to find them! Okay, so, now wouldn’t it be fun to print these generational photos on fabric and make a quilt?!
I have been good at organizing my photos – I have all the pre-digital ones scanned in and filed by year (fortunately back in film days, I only took about 100 a year), and I have given both of my daughters jump drives with all the pictures on them too. I also have them backed up on external hard drives and in the cloud! Our family has gone through numerous floods and hurricanes and even a wildfire very close by, and I just don’t want to ever lose my pictures!
But a quilt would be a good idea. I’ll add it to my to-do list!
