Public Domain Day
For Public Domain Day, I am bringing you some lovely textiles from our own Museum of Fine Arts Houston. One thing I really love about their online collections, is that they put the words “Public Domain” easily visible in the bottom corner of the appropriate pictures. You don’t have to hunt all over the website to find that information.
Unfortunately, you can’t zoom in on the pictures, and some of them could use an update, but we are happy to get what we can! All of these are in the public domain, and few of them are on view in any of the museum’s buildings.

I am so thankful that these inspirational creations are available online!
Wonderful!
Thanks for the lovely tour. One bonus of online collection browsing is you can see work that is often not on display, but stored somewhere in an archive. I hope to write about some online collections in 2018.
Glorious textiles, especially the last one. Thanks for showing them to us.
You always find the best eye candy! I am in love with the first two items because they read as quilt designs to my eye.
Yummy!! That double weave coverlet blows my mind!
Happy memories! I had a job within walking distance of MFA-Houston one year! Thanks for these pictures 🙂
