Inspired by the Fabulous Scavenger
There are so many creative, thought-provoking blogs out there that I love reading. But there is one in particular that gives me ideas I can accomplish quickly, right this minute! And that is The Fabulous Scavenger. The way she groups items by color inspired me to rearrange some shelves in my sewing room – I can’t believe how much better it looks with just a few changes.
I slid the thread spools onto knitting needles before putting them in the jar, so they would stay lined up and display better.
I hope you enjoy a visit to her colorful blog!
Nice. Good idea using the needles in the jar. I like!
Thank you! It always amazes me how many ideas I get when I start thinking, “What would so-and-so do?”
The small tray in the center of your beautifully and newly design arrangement was given to my mother in 1937 as a wedding gift. Mom worked as a daily housekeeper for an older couple. Mom always said that it was the lady of this house that taught her all the refined ways to set a table, cook and serve a lovely meal, etc. The couple were so fond of her that, when she told them she was leaving to get married, they offered to hire my father, too, and provide living quarters for them.
I remembered who the tray was from but not the rest of the story! Now I am going to have you document all of the cut glass, etc. that has been handed down!
